An Expedition for everyone!
As a child I always wanted to be like Indiana Jones, exploring exciting new places and making treasure maps, dragging my friends along on adventure was one of my favourite things to do.
Now I get to do that for half the year with new friends everyday I take a tour. Shark tooth Island holds so much anticipation, with a chance to come across prehistoric teeth from approximately 3.6 million years ago is not something we are able to say we can do very often. At shark tooth Island it feels like anything is possible, although your chances of finding anything from a Megaladon is extremely slim, finding shark teeth is a real possibility.
Shark Tooth Island is a family adventure. At Aussie Yaks they provide a great family adventure, it’s a short paddle to Shark tooth Island and Aussie Mike provides some history of the area and of the possibilities ahead on your tour. Mike was sure to temper our expectations on finding Shark teeth we still felt the anticipation of “What could be”. The kids listened to Mike’s knowledge of the area and learnt some fun facts whilst we were getting in some exercise on the famous Cape Fear River.
Aussie Yaks Tour of Shark tooth Island was a great length, the kids stayed engaged and it didn’t drag on, 90 minutes was enough for the kids under 14. Informative, fun filled adventure that I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting the area with a family.
